United State Virgin Islands CSTE Behavioral Health Environmental Scan

Assessing behavioral health needs in underserved communities is often overlooked. There is a lot going on that needs immediate attention, and often we don’t see a need until it is too late. Our scan of behavioral health resources in the USVI reinforced what we already know… additional behavioral health resources are needed, and importantly clinicians and providers are often not available. Stigma continues to be a major problem and individuals experiencing homelessness are severely impacted, especially when hurricanes or pandemics hit communities.
