Writing is hard. There we go, one three-word sentence, and I am done. Just kidding. I struggle with sharing everything that I write, with my colleagues, friends, potential publishers…. This struggle is an internal one that is REAL. Think back to a time when you wanted to write something really impressive- maybe this was for a college course, future employer, dissertation - how long did it take you to write a paragraph? How many times did you read and re-read it? How much time did you waste? How many sentences did you have to delete- even though you loved them? Yes, like children.
What if we started to write like nobody was watching? What would we write? How might this freedom improve the creative process? Now is the time to write like no one is watching. You might just surprise yourself with something even better than before.
